Tammi Savoy wuchs mit Gospel, klassischem Rhythm and Blues, Rock ’n’ Roll, Funk und Jazz auf. Heute gräbt sie tief hinunter zu den Wurzeln des Amerikanischen Souls. Die in St. Paul, Minnesota, Geborene liebt es, aus tiefstem Herzen zu singen. Sie verkörpert mühelos das Flair und die Klangfarben von Grössen wie Ruth Brown, Laverne Baker und Sarah Vaughan. „Ich liebe es, viele unbeachtete Songs aus den 50ern zu singen, die die Leute kaum kennen, um diesen Edelsteinen wieder zu Aufmerksamkeit zu verhelfen“, sagt sie. Tammi Savoy fühlt sich geehrt, die 2019 Ameripolitan Music Award Rockabilly Woman of the Year zu sein.

Chris Casello ist ein Urgestein der Musikszenen von Detroit, Nashville und Chicago. Er gewann den 2017 Ameripolitan Musician of the Year und zahlreiche andere Preise. Der Griffbrettakrobat hat in mehr als einem Dutzend Ländern gespielt, er hat unzählige Pioniere des Rock, Country und Blues auf der Bühne unterstützt.

Nachdem die beiden sich an einem Konzert in Chicago getroffen hatten, haben sie zusammen gespielt und aufgenommen. Diese einfachen Live-Aufnahmen stiessen auf ein begeistertes Echo und innerhalb nur weniger Wochen ist die Gruppe im Viva Las Vegas, The Nashville Boogie und The New England Shake-Up aufgetreten. Inzwischen sind sie für viele Festivals von Blues über Jazz bis zu Hot Rod Shows in den USA und auf der ganzen Welt engagiert worden.

Tammi Savoy grew up listening to gospel, classic rhythm and blues, rock ’n’ roll, funk and jazz. She digs deep into the roots of American soul. The St. Paul, Minnesota-native loves “sangin” from her heart and effortlessly captures the feel and sounds of greats such as Ruth Brown, Laverne Baker and Sarah Vaughan. “I like to sing a lot of obscure songs that people don’t know a lot about, to bring attention to those gems again,” she says. Tammi Savoy feels honored to be the 2019 Ameripolitan Music Award Rockabilly Woman of the Year.

Chris Casello is a veteran of Detroit, Nashville and Chicago music scenes. He won the 2017 Ameripolitan Musician of the Year and various other rewards. The guitar virtuoso has played in over a dozen countries, he backed up countless pioneers of rock, country and blues.

After meeting at a gig in Chicago, the pair started jamming and recording. These basically live recordings started receiving an enthusiastic response and in a few short weeks, the group has made appearances at Viva Las Vegas, The Nashville Boogie, The New England Shake-Up. They are booked on several festivals from blues and jazz to hot rod shows in the U.S. and around the world.

The music of Tammi Savoy and Chris Casello Combo feels like you are in the late 50s but with a freshness to it that will blow you away. This is contagiously fun and irresistibly danceable.
